When was the last time you heard a politician own up to their mistakes or outright deceit?
Maybe you have never seen it happen.
Gun owners have long grown accustomed to lying politicians telling us how much they love the 2nd Amendment, and then once they are safely in office they do next to nothing to prove it.
“I’m a defender the 2nd Amendment” they might say on the campaign trail.
Then they will follow that up with an increase in gun control, or a vote against Constitutional Carry at the capitol.
That’s when gun owners get angry and talk to their legislators about their betrayal. You make the decision to find out why they have broken their promise to you.
What follows is usually a litany of excuses to try and calm your anger as a voter/activist.
“You just don’t understand how things work around here.”
“I’m on your side but I have to appear reasonable.”
“You and your friends are the only ones talking about this.”
The list goes on and on.
Remember, a politician’s objective is to keep you from holding them accountable. Once those excuses get your anger down, they then try to win you to their side by offering you “access” or some perceived “power.”
This “access” is what draws many voters and activists in.
Gun owners have to be prepared for this deceitfulness. Politicians are masters of it.
After our successful 2019 Idaho Legislative session, we are excited to announce that we are working on plans for the fall Gold Banquet, reaching out to Idaho’s Congressional delegation on Red Flag laws, and more!
This is what you guys expect of a gun rights group. You expect us to give everything we have to hold our elected officials accountable and that is what we intend to do.
Remember, none of this is possible without your continued prayers, activism, financial support, and more.
YOU are the Idaho Second Amendment Alliance! Thank you for all that you do.
