Idaho Supreme Court Hears Gun Case, Now What?

Today was a day gun owners have been waiting for two years now.

The Idaho Second Amendment Alliance and the Second Amendment Foundation were finally able to give our real arguments before the Idaho Supreme Court. Now we wait for the decision from the court.

First, we want to thank Mr. Don Kilmer, the Second Amendment Foundation attorney who did the oral argument this morning.

Don presented an awesome case for gun owners and defense of Idaho’s firearm preemption law. The Justices hit Don with a lot of questions, which Don handled very well.

The bottom line is this: Not only did the city not properly execute its lease, but it used the threat of law to arrest Idaho gun owners on public property who were exercising their right to keep and bear arms.

The city attempted to blame The Festival at Sandpoint, a non-profit organization, for the gun ban.

However, the city let it happen and didn’t ensure the Festival understood Idaho’s important firearm preemption law.

While Don did a great job with the court, the city attorney was underwhelming, to say the least.

The first part of her argument seemed to be a giant complaint that they even had to be at the ISC in the first place. After that, her arguments were weak and extremely unconvincing.

To get a full recap of my thoughts, as well as the thoughts of ISAA Political Director Christy Zito, be sure to watch the video below!

In addition to Don’s work, we want to thank our attorney, Alexandria Kincaid, and her incredible efforts in this case as well.

Alexandria did a lot of pro-bono work for Idaho’s gun owners on this case and has on other issues for many years now.

Gun owners will now wait for approximately 30 to 60 days for the ISC to issue an opinion on the case.

In the meantime, we have to continue to fight, no matter what.

You are the only reason we were able even to get the case this far. Without Idaho’s gun owners, we would be dead in the water against the gun grabbers.

This is no time to rest. We need more and more gun owners to join this fight.

That’s why I hope you will join the Idaho Second Amendment Alliance today if you haven’t done so already

If you are already a member, then please consider a donation today to help us in the fight to protect the 2nd Amendment in Idaho.

Whether you donate $500, $250, or $100 to help protect the right to keep and bear arms, it’s all greatly appreciated. Again, we can’t do any of this without you.

If that’s too much right now, please consider a smaller donation of $75, $50, or even just $25, then that’s okay too!

This was a great day for Idaho, and we know that if the Justices come down on the right side of this issue, it will be an even greater day for Idahoans.

For Idaho,

Greg Pruett
