ISAA Calls for Open Hearing on House Bill 422 (Constitutional Carry)!

The Idaho Second Amendment Alliance is calling for an open hearing on House Bill 422. The bill is the closest version of Permitless Carry that has been proposed but the ISAA would like to see one small adjustment made to it. The bill would increase the age limit from 18 to 21 years old. The ISAA opposes any increase in restrictions on law abiding citizens above what is currently in place. There are other restrictions we also believe should be removed but a first step in this process is just getting Permitless Carry passed.

House Bill 422 currently sits in the House Ways and Means Committee.

The chairman for the House Ways and Means Committee is Representative Christy Perry (R-11). Because we are weeks into the session, the ISAA is requesting that Chairman Perry give House Bill 422 a full public in her committee immediately. Time is running out on Idaho citizens getting a hearing on Permitless Carry that they rightfully deserve.

Some may remember that Chairman Perry recently spoke with ISAA President Greg Pruett about Permitless Carry at the Boise Gun Show. We feel confident she is going to stand with Idaho citizens on the issue. Here is that video:

What can you do as a concerned gun owner? The best thing to do is to reach out to Chairman Perry and request that she give Permitless Carry (HB 422) a fair and open hearing. Remember to be polite and respectful in your requests!

Make 2016 the year that Idaho finally gets Permitless Carry! The last few years Idaho citizens have been snubbed of a hearing on the issue and it is time for that blockade to end!
