It wasn’t just New Plymouth with illegal gun bans.
Power County, Idaho also has a ban!
We need your help once again — more on that below.
We first reached out to Power County in September of 2014 with a letter informing the county of their violation.
ISAA President Greg Pruett even met with the Power County Prosecutor to try and resolve the matter.
That was over 2 years ago!
The letter and meeting was followed up by numerous emails and phone calls to try and end the illegal ordinance.
The Prosecutor and Commissioners still do not reply to our requests to fix this issue.
They have thus far refused to change their ordinance!
What does the ordinance say exactly?
Ordinance (5-2-5-A) reads:
The public is allowed by Idaho law to carry a firearm in any publicly owned county building or park, except the Courthouse.
You have to wonder if the Prosecutor and Commissioners are just another set of politicians who campaign on pro-gun stances, but then refuse to uphold that oath while safely in office.
Idaho law is very clear on this issue.
The statute, 18-3302J(2), reads in part:
Regulating the possession of firearms is not allowed.
Power County is continuing an ordinance that violates state law!
What would happen to you and I if we were to violate state law?
Idahoans are sick and tired of politicians who think they are above the law.
We must hold them accountable!
Just as you did with the City of New Plymouth, you can help make a difference again.
We must fight the anti-gun agenda at every turn.
What can you do to help?
>>> First, we need you to contact the Prosecutor and Commissioners right away and tell them to immediately change this ordinance! Call, Email, and Facebook each of them!
Prosecutor Ryan Peterson(R), 208-226-1230

Remember to be firm but respectful in your correspondence.
>>> Second, forward this email to as many of your family and friends as you can.
This gun ban and other like it must be defeated!
I wish I could tell you this was the only ordinance that needed to be changed in Idaho.
We have other places like Plummer and Ketchum that also need updates but have so far refused.
Right now, we need your focus on Power County and their gun ban!
Thank you for your efforts and it is because of people like you take actions that we will see success like we had in New Plymouth.
You can make a difference right here, right now, in Idaho!

Even after the ISAA contacted the County in September of 2014, and after ISAA President Greg Pruett personally met with the Prosecuting Attorney to discuss a new ordinance, they still haven’t changed it.
That’s why we need you to contact them right away and tell them to change the illegal ordinance immediately!
See the contact info above.
Make sure to send this email to all your family and friends after contacting the county.
Thank you for your activism!
