Preemption Project Hearings!!!

There are several City Council Meetings upcoming that we need citizens to attend to show support for ordinance changes. As the ISAA continues its efforts to get city and county codes in alignment with state law, we need citizens to back us up. There are three upcoming meetings and if you live in one of these towns, or know someone who does, please attend.

1. Bonners Ferry: Tuesday, April 21st, 2015. Meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Public comment will be allowed at the beginning of the meeting.

2. American Falls: Wednesday, May 6th, 2015. Meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. This will be the first of 3 readings. There won’t be a vote at this meeting.

3. Filer: Tuesday, May 19th, 2015. Meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall. There is no hearing on an actual change. The ISAA will take petitions from Filer residents to the City Council meeting. We will also present a new ordinance change to the council as well as explain to them what the Preemption Project is all about. Comments will be allowed at the beginning of the meeting. Filer is one of four cities that is refusing to update their ordinance.
