Reggy Sternes is challenging Rep. Maxine Bell in District 25 in the Republican Primary for Seat A on May 17th.
To be sure you remember, Rep. Maxine Bell is one of 4 Republicans to vote against Permitless/Constitutional Carry (SB 1389) during the 2016 Idaho legislative session.
Instead of voting to protect gun rights, she has chosen to vote against them by siding with Michael Bloomberg and Moms Demand Action.
She is in her 14th term and is up for re-election this year.
Her opponent is Reggy Sternes.
As with all candidates who wish to give us a 2nd Amendment stance/statement, we are providing Mr. Sternes stance here:
“I am an ardent supporter of the U.S. Constitution’s Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms. I believe this right is an inalienable, individual right; and, though specified as a protected right within the Constitution, I believe it only codified a natural right which already existed.
I believe it is the right of all men and women to protect themselves or their families from harm.
I believe that peaceful methods should be exhausted before taking up arms to defend our liberty from others or the tyrannical will of government.
I believe this right is not limited to self-protection, but also covers its use for sport, hunting, collecting or other uses.
I do not support laws that would tax gun or ammunition purchases or ownership differently than other general purchase items.
I support Senate Bill 1389 (2016), otherwise known as Constitutional Carry Bill or Permit-Less Concealed Carry Bill.”

This is not an endorsement of Mr. Sternes as the ISAA does not endorse candidates. We seek to educate voters on who is voting against your rights and where all candidates stand on 2nd Amendment issues so you can make an educated vote.
