With your support, we’re prepared to pull out all the stops to defeat ANY AND ALL new gun control schemes.
And since sometimes the best defense is a good offense, we’re preparing to launch an all-out push for Stand-Your-Ground.
You see, the Stand-Your-Ground Bill that passed last year did absolutely nothing, merely codifying Idaho’s existing law.
It was just GOP leaders trying to pull a fast one on Second Amendment supporters during the election year.
But the Idaho Second Amendment Alliance’s rock-solid Stand-Your-Ground Bill would ensure that law-abiding gun owners who use their firearms in self-defense:
1) Receive criminal immunity from anti-gun prosecutors.
Without this protection, anti-gun prosecutors will continue trying to make an example of law-abiding gun owners to score political points just as we’ve seen them take cases to court to make political statements;
2) Close the “duty to retreat” loophole.
Currently prosecutors can convince a jury that you could have run away if it seems “reasonable.”
Without BOTH of these vital protections, I’m afraid law-abiding gun owners are sitting ducks.
After a big 2018 primary season and General Election Candidate Survey program, you and I may be positioned better than ever before for success in Stand-Your-Ground.
Going into the next legislative session we’ll actually have more pro-Second Amendment legislators than ever before who answered 100% on our survey, including State Rep. Christy Zito and Chad Christensen.
Christensen defeated longtime incumbent State Rep. Tom Loertscher, the powerful Chairman of the House State Affairs Committee, who was responsible for bottling up pro-gun legislation in “his” Committee for years!
With Loertscher gone, now is the time to force public, roll-call votes on Stand-Your-Ground and put the self-proclaimed “pro-Second Amendment” majorities in Boise on record.
You and I both know gun control doesn’t work. The truth is, gun-grabbers know that too. But they don’t care. To them, it’s about power.
To them, “deplorables” like you and me have to be controlled.
Sadly, with more and more out-of-staters pouring into Idaho for our natural beauty — bringing their “elite” value system along with them — “government-knows-best” thinking is becoming more and more prevalent.
If we don’t stop them, everything we love about Idaho could be lost overnight.
But whether it’s fighting back against so-called “Red Flag” Gun Confiscation Orders or building grassroots pressure for passing Stand-Your-Ground, it all takes resources.
Unlike the gun-grabbers, the Idaho Second Amendment Alliance doesn’t have any out-of-state BILLIONAIRES bankrolling us — or media elites openly cheerleading for us.
We depend on the generosity of good folks like you for everything we do.
Frankly, U.S. Mail, social media, and hard-hitting radio, TV and online ads — all the things it takes to win an all-out political fight — aren’t cheap.
So when you’re renewing your membership with the Idaho Second Amendment Alliance, would you please consider “digging deep” and giving even $500, $250, or even $100 if you can?
I know that’s a lot, even considering the stakes. But we have so much on the line in the next year.
Of course, the amount you choose is up to you.
I hope you will agree to $500, $250, $100, $50, or even just $35 if you can. Your support will make all the difference in the years ahead.
Sincerely,
Greg Pruett
President
P.S. After the results of the 2018 elections, gun-grabbers are more emboldened than ever. They’re convinced they can RAM so-called “Red Flag” Gun Confiscation Orders into law.
That’s why I’m counting on you to please be as generous as possible when you renew your membership in the Idaho Second Amendment Alliance for 2019.
